This is a can’t miss for anyone looking to have a good time and great food. The Peddler’s Daughter is an Irish restaurant and pub on Main Street in Nashua, New Hampshire. When you walk in it feels like you’ve been transported to a pub in Ireland. When live Irish music isn’t playing they have music over the sound system. The walls are brick and decorated with an assortment of signs including the many Irish imported brews that are served. Many of the decorations come from Ireland, such as the bench in the booth where we were seated.
While most of the menu concentrates on Irish cuisine there is something for everyone. They have a full service liquour license. You can order wine by the glass or by the bottle. They have a wide variety of imported brews, mostly from Ireland. This is a casual dining experience.
We had the Guiness beef stew, a corned beef sandwich and sweet potato fries. The Guiness beef stew was a wonderful mix of beef and root vegetables topped with mashed potatoes. The beef and vegetables were perfectly seasoned and the mashed potatoes added just the right touch. The corned beef sandwich was mouthwatering and among the best I have ever had. The sweet potato fries made for a wonderful addition and they certainly were sweet. They were served with delicous homemade ketchup served in an old-fashion jar. Anyone who has not had homemade ketchup would be wise to try some here, it’s not as sweet as bottled ketchup but very good in it’s own right.
Live Irish music is played on Friday and Saturday nights starting at 9:30 pm, arrive early for dinner and avoid the nominal cover charge. Singing along is encouraged and the atmosphere lends itself to doing just that. The waitstaff is friendly and helpful. If you’re looking for a fun time at someplace a little different with wonderful food then I suggest The Peddler’s Daughter, tell them NHLiving.com sent you.
