November in the White Mountains
For many people, a northern New Hampshire November might seem to be a time when the trees themselves are scratching their bare heads, wondering what to do next. In fact, there's a lot to do in New Hampshire's White Mountains. The "Old Man" may be gone but there still are plenty of great reasons to plan a trip to northern New Hampshire.

3. A drive along the 34-mile Kancamangus Highway is a beautiful ride any time of the year. Begin your drive in Lincoln, traveling east to Conway.
4. Snowflake Express - From November 3-16, 2003 - take a journey back 100 years on the Cog Christmas Train by day. Ride in a heated 1870's Victorian era coach led by a coal fired steam engine. You will climb half way up Mt Washington to enjoy the early winter views. Phone: 603-374-2353
5. There will be skiing if the late fall develops normally - Bretton Woods (Rt.302 below Twin Mtns.) usually opens the earliest, before Turkey Day; check out Loon Mountain (Kancamangus Highway, east of Lincoln) and Attitash (east of Bartlett) soon after.
6. Veteran's Day, November 11th: The Mt. Washington Valley celebrates with parades, memorial services and panel discussions. See our recommended inns section for excellent lodging accommodations. 9. Shopping, North Conway: Settler's Green: 53 stores including Banana Republic, Bass Shoe, Brookstone, Eddie Bauer, GAP, J. Crew, Old Navy, Orvis, Rockport. Tanger's Outlet Center features L.L. Bean, Samsonite, Brooks Brothers, POLO and many others.
10. Visit a New Hampshire Museum. There are several interesting museums in the White Mountain Region of northern New Hampshire.
