Tall Timber is not just a rustic hunting lodge stuck in the middle the Great North Woods on Back Lake. It is well furnished cabins and homes that make it a great place to unwind, relax and get away from it all. Many of Tall Timber Cabins are quite luxurious with whirlpool tubs, wood or gas fireplaces, and full kitchens, TV’s, (No phones and your cells do not work); land phones are available for necessity. Comfortable Beds, with lush comforters, soft sheets, fluffy towels, and alarm clocks. The décor, well you guessed it, they show off a little bit of the rustic nature with wild life mounted on many of the walls.
Breakfast and dinner will never be an issue when you stay at Tall Timber. If you are not into cooking in the fully equipped cabins, The Rainbow Grille & Tavern has turned out some of the most incredible meals in the area. Dinners consist of seafood, trout, steaks, ribs, lamb, venison, elk, duck, buffalo plus other delicacies added to the regular menu. The baked Stuffed Shrimp, Prime Rib Steaks, Baked Stuffed Haddock and Ribs to name a few are outstanding. The portions are very generous, and you will be glad there are refrigerators in your cabin for the leftovers. Don’t forget dessert…Always a treat.
Breakfasts are hearty, with home baked muffins, fresh fruit, omelets, benedicts, pancakes, French toast and more. The coffee is hot and fresh, the aroma wonderful, and the wait staff very friendly and accommodating.
After breakfast during the warm months, Tall Timber has a selection of paddleboats and motorboats for rent. Fish, birdwatch or just cruise Back Lake and enjoy the wonderful sounds of nature.
During the winter months snowmobile trails are just across the road. Located on New Hampshire’s State Corridor Trails #5 and #20, connecting you to hundreds of miles of groomed trails accessible from your cabin door. You can ride to Maine or have lunch in Canada or nearby Vermont.
After all is said and done, Tall Timber is the perfect all year round place to stay. There is something for all ages, or nothing at all so you can just relax.
