Moderate hike to 2500' summit of Mount Hedgehog; 360 degree view of Swift River Valley
Location: 13.5 miles west of the Saco Ranger Station, opposite the Passaconaway Campground
Distance/Time: Allow 4 to 5 hours round trip
Mount Potash Hike
Difficult Trail, involves ledge climbing to the 2600' summit of Mt. Potash.
Location: 13.5 miles west of the Saco Ranger Station, begin on the Down's Brook Trail opposite the passaconaway campground
Distance/Time: 4 miles - allow 4 hours round trip
Franconia
Artist's Bluff & Bald Mountain
Views of Cannon Mountain and Franconia Notch
Location: Rte 18, across from Peabody Base Lodge.
(Can be steep and unmarked in places)
Distance/Time: 1.5 mile loop - about 1 1/2 hours

Basin-Cascades Trail
Ascends along Cascade Brook
Location: Off of Rte 3 in Franconia Notch State Park. Starts at the Basin
Distance/Time: 2 miles - about 1 1/2 hours
Boulder Loop Trail
Great views with very little effort
Location: Dugway Road, off the Kancamagus Highway.

Distance/Time: 2.8 miles - 2 to 3 hours
Lonesome Lake
Very good footing on an old bridle path
Location: Lafayette Place in Franconia Notch.
Distance/Time: 3.25 miles

Follows the Saco river through the woods past several beaver dams
Location: Trail starts at the Willey House site, bears right after the bridge
Distance/Time: 1 mile round trip
Crawford Notch State Park - Ripley Falls
100 foot high cascade, Avalanche Brook flows over moss-covered granite slopes
Location:1 mile southeast of the Willey House site. Go up the access road that goes off of Rte 302.
Take the Ethan Pond Trail, then shortly after it begins, take a left onto the Ripley Falls Trail
Distance/Time: 1/2 mile in to falls
Crawford Notch State Park - Arethusa Falls
Offers views of the highest falls in the state, 200 feet
Location: Trailhead 1/2 miles south of Dry River Campground on Rte 302
(Trail is fairly rocky, moderately steep)
Distance/Time: 1.3 miles in to falls - 3.0 miles if loop past Frankenstein Cliff is taken back to start point
