Ahhh, fall in New England. Such a wonderful time of year to go for a drive and enjoy the natural splendor of the Granite State. Here in New Hampshire there are so many scenic drives from which to choose it is difficult to pick just one. So, to help narrow it down here are some foliage drives that have been greatly enjoyed by many in the past.

White Mountain NH Scenic Loop
Through the Kangamangus Highway, Crawford Notch and Franconia Notch
Starting in Bethlehem take Rte 302 east towards Conway. This will take you past the Mount Washington Hotel and through Crawford Notch. Once in Conway take Rte 112 west(aka. Kangamangus Highway) to Lincoln. From here take I93 north through Franconia Notch. Bethlehem is exit 40.


Monadnock NH Autumn Auto Drive
From Peterborough take Rte 101 west 5miles. Take Rte 137 south to Jaffrey. Feel free to stop here and see the Civic Center Exhibits and Old Red Schoolhouse. Take Rte 124 west to Marlborough passing the southern portion of Mt. Monadnock. Once in Marlborough take Rte.101 east, this highway will pass Dublin and nearby Dublin Lake. Continueing along Rte 101 east will return to Peterborough. If a longer drive is in order then take Rte 137 north up through Hancock. 137 connects with Rte. 202. Head south on Rte 202 to get back to Peterborough.


Lakes Region Lake Tour
This 97-mile tour will go around Lake Winnipesaukee and sometimes follows lots of tiny little jogs of roads. As a guide, follow the following cities starting in Alton: Alton Bay, Gilford, Weirs Beach, Meredith, Holderness, Center Harbor, Moultonborough. The Rte. ends back in Alton. In addition, there are also NH Scenic Byway signs which will guide you.
