Echo Lake State Park
Bartlett and Conway, NH
You won’t find a prettier place to swim than Echo Lake. Please note that this Echo Lake is separate from the one of the same name in Franconia Notch State Park. The beach front on the lake is just right whether you have a toddler that loves to dig or a teen that’s perfecting a tan. Bring binoculars and watch the hardworking rock climbers on White Horse and Cathedral Ledges while you relax. Bring your own food if you want to picnic. Amenities include a vending machine for soft drinks and a bathhouse for changing clothes. The park is open from 9AM to 8PM from mid-June through Labor Day.
Franconia Notch State Park
Lincoln and Franconia, NH
Franconia Notch State Park is located in the heart of the popular White Mountain National Forest. A notch is actually a gap in the mountains formed by river and glacial erosive forces. Beautiful Echo Lake, at an elevation of 1931 feet, offers swimming, fishing, and small boat access, as well as views of Mt. Lafayette and Cannon Mountain. In a different watershed from Profile Lake, its waters flow westerly toward the Connecticut River.
Moose Brook State Park
Located in the White Mountains Region, just north of the Presidential Range, Moose Brook State Park is in an area of unparalleled scenery and offers a variety of outdoor activities. The park is ideally located for fishing in the Peabody and Moose rivers. Moose Brook flows through the park, and after passing through a shallow warming pool, feeds the swimming area with cool, clear mountain water. Picnicking and swimming are enjoyed against the scenic mountain backdrop. The many trails in the park are great for exploring on foot or mountain bike.
