The Colonial Theatre Group, Inc. operates according to their mission statement, "to attract audiences of our region to an exciting balance of professional live entertainment and film. As a leader in our community, The Colonial will provide outreach and education opportunities for our audiences. Through professional management and sound financial planning, the Colonial will continually enhance and improve our 1924 landmark downtown facility and its place in our community."
The Colonial Theatre first opened on January 29, 1924. However, in 1945 live performances were replaced by movies. Then in 1991 a group of local citizens decided to save the decaying theatre. Now live performances are being enjoyed in this historic theatre once again.
The Box Office is open Monday through Friday 12-9 PM, and during live events and film on Saturday and Sunday.
